26-27/04/2008 - Congress of the Polish Student Societies in Oxford
The Solidarin Foundation sponsored the Congress whose aim was to create an organizational platform within and for the Polish student community of the UK, particularly between Polish Societies at British universities, and the development of leadership skills of the participants.
Approximately 60 Polish students, representing the Polish Societies from around 18 British universities, gathered over that weekend in Oxford to take part in this unique event. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radoslaw Sikorski, honour them with his presence on the 27th.
12/04/2008 - The Solidarni Party -

On Saturday, the 12th of April, in the Rex Cinema and Bar our Foundation
organised “The Solidarni Party”. The event brought together almost 200
people, all sharing the idea of supporting our charitable cause. Thanks
to this overwhelming attendance we raised a substantial sum of money,
which will be donated to The Barka Foundation and used to help less
privileged Polish migrants in London.
We would like to thank all our guests for their support and the great
party.
05/04/2008 - Football Tournament
On Saturday, the 5th of April, Foundation “Solidarni” organised a
5-a-side football tournament to promote the “Poles to Polls” campaign.
Apart from encouraging people to vote in the upcoming mayor election,
the main goal of the event was to raise funds to help Poles who have
found themselves in a very difficult situation in the UK. Eight teams,
representing various polish organisations and their international teams,
participated in the tournament. The team representing the Polish Embassy
in London won the final against the French team. The event was widely
covered by the local polish media as well as the BBC.
27/02/08 - Collection of Used/Unwanted Items
On the 27th of February, Foundation Solidarni organised a collection of second-hand clothing and other unwanted items that were offered to the most needy in the U.K and Poland, in cooperation with the Barka Foundation. The collection took place in most of the major financial institutions based in the Canary Wharf area. The collection was received with such overwhelming support that another is planned in the near future.
16/02/08 - Inauguration of the 'Solidarni' Football League
16/12/07 - Inaugural Dinner at POSK
The Foundation’s inaugural meeting took place on the 16th of December 2007 at the Polish Social & Cultural Association (POSK). At the dinner, the co-founders hosted Honorary Member Tomasz Sadowski founder of Barka Foundation and his associates, Roger Busz from the Representation of Polish Artists as well as close friends to discuss the aims and future initiatives of the Foundation. Further meetings will take place soon.
Nov 07 - Tomasz Sadowski, founder of the Barka Foundation, agrees to become the first Honorary Member
We are happy to announce that Tomasz Sadowski, founder and Chairman of the Barka Foundation, agreed to become the first Honorary Member of Foundation Solidarni. Recipient of numerous international awards for his outstanding charity work, Tomasz is known in particular for creating “Barka” - one of the most important Polish NGO’s. He recently established Barka branches in London and Dublin in order to provide on the ground help to Polish migrants.

Foundation Solidarni supports the concept and activities of the Polish Legal Centre created by the Polish City Club in conjunction with the Law for All charity in order to assist London's growing Polish community with free legal advice during weekly workshops at the Polish Social & Cultural Association (POSK).
'Poles Vote' Campaign www.polacyglosuja.org.uk
'Poles Vote' is a new campaign launched on the 26th of February at the Polish Social and Cultural Association in Hammersmith. The principal aim of the initiative is to improve polish voters’ participation in the next elections for the Mayor of London (which took place on the 1st of May 2008).
